Award categories:
- The Doughminator Award (flavor, fermentation, crust, crumb, structure, scoring and ear)
- Look At Those Holes Award (open crumb, even fermentation)
- Most Explosive Oven Spring (strong rise, height, expansion)
- Crust Worthy Award (color, blistering, crispiness, caramelization)
- Biggest Ear Award (clean expansion, proper angle/depth)
- Most Picture-Perfect Loaf (decorative score, creativity, precision, design, visual impact)
- Worth The Carbs award (balanced flavor, acidity, texture)
INCLUSION SOURDOUGH COMPETITION
There will be an unexpected, fun and crazy twist that will be announced the day of the competition.
RULES:
- Batard shape
- Must use the ingredients provided (to be announced on mixing day)
- Must have a control score
Awards to be announced at the retreat
DISCARD RECIPE COMPETITION
This is your chance to shine and show your creative baking side!
- Competitor must submit 3 dessert discard recipes, emailed to prindlesourdough@gmail.com by July 20th
- Competitor can not submit a chocolate chip cookie or banana bread recipe.
- Recipe must use sourdough starter (active or discard) as an ingredient
- Recipe has to be mixed and baked within a 4 hour time period
- Ingredients must be in grams & have mixing and baking instructions
- Recipes may be adapted from existing recipes but must include the competitior’s own creative variation including recipes from Prindle and Sugars social media platforms.
- Direct copies of published recipes are not permitted
- Competitors must name their recipe creation
- Competitor must submit a picture of the finished product for each recipe
